Celebrating the Goddess Power of Friday the 13th

Before everything else, I’m gonna greet myself and this blog/website a happy one-year anniversary.

Yes, it’s official. Bella Dyosa turns 1 today!

And with that, comes this month’s beautiful and awe-inspiring topic: the goddess power behind Friday the 13th.

You may have noticed that I always publish posts every 13th of the month. There’s a reason for that and it’s because 13 has been my lucky number since forever (much like the legendary storyteller and songwriter, Taylor Swift).

I never related to the fuss around Friday the 13th. If I recall correctly, all my Friday the 13ths have either been wonderful or nothing out of the ordinary – certainly not filled with mishaps or problems.

Because of this, 13 being my lucky number and Friday the 13th being one of my favorite days of the year became fun facts about myself. One of my many quirks.

It’s only recently that I found out that there’s more to the number 13 and Friday the 13th, thanks to high-vibe hype woman, cosmic consultant, and my mentor, Madi Murphy.

Apparently, 13 is associated with the goddess and divine feminine energy. It is also the number of lunar cycles in a year if you follow the lunar calendar as opposed to the solar.

In the realm of spirituality, the moon aka la luna is related to divine feminine energy. Circling back to what I had just mentioned earlier – the number 13.

Enter Friday. If we look into the days of the week, each day corresponds to different planets/luminaries.

Monday is Moon Day, Tuesday is Mars Day (Mardi in French, Martes in Spanish – yes, come through), Wednesday is Mercury Day (Mercredi, Miércoles), Thursday is Jupiter Day (Jeudi, Jueves), and finally, Friday is Venus Day (Vendredi, Viernes).

And who exactly is Venus? The Roman goddess of love and beauty.

Coincidence? I THINK NOT.

When you combine the meaning behind 13 and Friday, you’re given this double goddess and divine feminine gift. What a treat!

It’s no wonder the patriarchy gladly shut it the fuck down.

I can go on and on about that. But I won’t. Since we are celebrating the goddess power of Friday the 13th, not highlighting the toxic masculine traditions that ripped it to shreds.

There’s a reason why this information has been coming back to light in the past few years anyway. It’s a reminder for all of us, not just women, but every single one of us (we all have both masculine and feminine energy) to tap into that goddess energy.

To get creative. To be sensual. To dive into our own definition of beauty. To heal. To receive. To simply be and not do even if it’s just for one day.

We’re allowed that much rest and recovery. Life can get tough sometimes, let’s be real.

You can imagine that when this background story found its way to me, it all started to click. I consider it one of my biggest spiritual aha moments.

Like yes, it’s no wonder I’ve been called to and refer to myself as a goddess or “dyosa” for years.

It holds a special place not only in my heart, but also my soul. And it only took a year for Bella Dyosa–meaning “beautiful goddess”–to be born when the dots connected.

Better late than never, amirite?

So, don’t be afraid to explore your inner goddess or feminine energy. Especially on this lovely Friday the 13th!

You need more of it, your loved ones need more of it, and quite frankly, the world needs more of it. Trust me.
